mineMARKUP Survey Released!
mineMARKUP Development Team Performing Underground Testing
For the past two weeks, the mineMARKUP development team has been underground (some for the first time) at Garson Mine, Sudbury. Up until now, the mineMARKUP tool, which provides the mine with accurate design to actual survey capabilities, was tested in the office of GijimaAst Americas. It has now been brought into the hostile mining environment where the hardware and software is being put through rigorous testing.
The main concentration of the testing has been done on the surveying module, one of four main modules (Markup, Survey, Geology, Shifter). The testing has revealed some interesting results, which are compiled and put into the support database. From there, we can manage our development priorities. The challenges have been minor in terms of continuous operation of the instrument. The underground testing to above ground code fixing has been a 1:1 day ratio on average. In addition to the testing highlighting development challenges, it has been very useful in terms of producing a list of enhancements to make the product more robust and easier to use.
To enhance the speed of the development, Garson Mine has volunteered one of their finest to test the product in parallel to our development. This individual will give development suggestions to the mineMARKUP team. This parallel test will give greater insight into how the industry will use the new product.
The team is pleased with current test results and can see having a product in the hands of selected industry participants in the near future.
