The GMSI Geological Modelling solutions specialise in the analysis, manipulation, modification, and graphical display of computerised surface or terrain modelling data. This includes triangulated as well as grid data models. Our solutions are also extended further onto selected handheld devices, enabling our clients to do underground geological mapping in the workplace. Also available is GMSI CoreLog, used in the capturing of borehole data. |

Several modules exist for the purposes of correctly and timeouslyinclude sampling, production, and ore flow. reporting daily figures. The business areas which are required to be reported on a daily basis. Using GMSI’s short interval control solutions, reporting of information in these areas is done on a real time basis and aims to assist prompt identification of deviations from planned goals. Further features include integration with materials management systems, labour and human resource solutions and many other business information systems. |

GMSI’s computerized survey systems are used by surveyors and miners underground. Our vision has always been to dynamically integrate survey data and measurements with mine design drawings—thereby providing the miner with instant information as to what progress has been made at any given moment in the mining process. From our GMSI PEGS database to our volumetric systems for anything from stockpiles to cavities, GMSI’s solutions are at the forefront of innovation in surface and underground surveying. |

The GMSI sampling functionality allows for mining operational samples from multiple sources such as mining face, go-belt and stockpile environments. The results are directed at monitoring and controlling the mining operation in conjunction with survey and ore flow information. All data collected is spatially aware, and can be displayed in schematic format adding value to preferred mining instructions, grade and stope width control, and subsequent reconciliation of production efforts at an individual workplace level.

GMSI Evaluation addresses the definition and modelling of the ore body in terms of its geology, area, width, mass, mineral value, grade and other geostatistical information. Mine Design, schedules and Ore reserve blocks are then valuated against the resource to predict what will be mined. |

Our Rock Engineering solutions essientially provides for stress analysis typically in tabular ore bodies. We enable the custom integration of seismic data together with 3D workplace related information as located by survey measurement applications. Particularly useful is the opportunity to integrate in a 3D visual way the impact of changing stress environments associated with a specific mining sequence. |

GMSI’s Engineering Support Solutions enable engineers to create a three dimensional visual layout of the engineering infrastructure based on electronic mine plans. Based on various input parameters and performance characteristics it is possible to model the performance of the relevant engineering services network. Typical applications include planning, budgeting, decision support and trouble shooting, what-if-scenarios, asset management and planned maintenance. Using GMSI’s integrated solution sets, various engineering utilities can be superimposed on the 3D mine layout — this includes networks for compressed air, ventilation, electrical power and service water. The process involves the positioning of various assets such as fans and vent columns. In the case of ventilation, the information interfaces with ventilation specific applications (VUMA) for further analysis and display specifically to match ventilation requirements with the mining plan. In association with Safety and Health applications ventilation practitioners are also able to make their workplace observations available for industrial hygiene purpose. |

The process of ore flow management as supported by the GMSI solution set deals with mining operational issues such as cross tramming and daily / monthly reconciliations based on mass and quality information. This also covers the movement of ore from shaft head to plant via various stockpiles as may be required based on the mine-plant configurations. Subsequent association with weighbridge, sample preparation and laboratory information is handled by our processing solutions described below. |
